Halloween 2010

What a great holiday right?!?  A holiday about dressing up and getting candy??  Love it.

Nana Mykie got Halloween shirts for the girls.  Here's Mira in hers. I think Danica's was in the wash this day. Danica got to go on a field trip to the pumpkin patch this year.  I told her she could draw a face on her pumpkin if she liked and then left her with a Sharpie to do so.
 She was very thorough!
I picked up a pumpkin for Rob to carve with Danica.
The blank slate:
Rob had her draw out a few faces and then they would choose her favorite.

It took some convincing to get her to stick her hand in there. haha.
Completed pumpkin!  You know what is so sad?  It sat outside for a weekish but never got lit!  Maybe next year.
This year Halloween was on a Sunday so we enjoyed going to a ward Halloween party with the Dewsnup's.  The girls also got to go to my parent's ward halloween party. I'm fairly certain our ward's fell during a Duck game so of course that was not going to happen.  Silly people.  Skewed priorities.
Danica LOVED getting to see Ruby at the party.  Their ward does great activities.  They had a haunted maze that Danica was apparently not a fan of though she asked if she could go again.  She gets scared easy-just like her mama.  Oh, and it might be important to add that she decided to be Aurora (Sleeping Beauty) for Halloween.
Little Red Riding Hood wasn't in the best of moods.
Grandpa came over to decorate Halloween cookies.

Grandpa's 80th Birthday PARTY!

This October we got to have a Perdue family reunion to celebrate Grandpa's 80th birthday.  Mykie and Mark rented a place outside of Redmond in Eagle Crest for us to stay at for the weekend.  It was super nice and we hope to be able to stay there again.  We found some hover toys in the cupboard- these grown boys could have been 5 year olds for how excited they got.  haha.  Rob has the best family; I sure did get lucky to marry into it.
Mykie and I decided to do one of the puzzles.  We opted for the 100 piece one..it was so hard!  Don't let this pic fool you.  You can't tell but the puzzle is of a blurry picture so most of the pieces looked the same.  You couldn't tell what you had in your hand!  I'm not just a whiner, I swear!  =)  I felt very accomplished when we finished it though.
Mira played shy girl all weekend.  It was kind of a bummer since Nana and Poppy don't get to visit with her very much as it is.

We went bowling!  I love bowling.

Marko beat the big group with his 150. But more awesomely (yea that's a word k?!) I got 99 bowling left-handed!
The girls scurried around with the boys in a game of football.  I didn't see anyone actually let them tough the ball but they had a blast.
They got goodie bags.  Danica loved it.
I'm so glad Danica had Adallyn to keep her entertained. They're so cute together.
 Happy Birthday Grandpa!

Danica is a 1st grader!!

This actually makes me want to go private so I can put more details. Oh well, maybe someday.  Danica was excited for school to start.  Then the first day came and she came home asking if she can be home-schooled.  I was so sad to hear this.  She is only a first grader!  It's way too early for her not to like it.  She is in the same classroom as I was in though has a new teacher.  She was also in my kindergarten class last year.  I get a big kick out of this.  =)  She likes it now and talks about playing with her friends Lilly and Colleen. She even gets to see a couple friends that she made while in daycare.  They are in kindergarten but share a morning recess.  I'm glad she gets to see them because she had been saying that she missed them and I felt guilty for not making some attempts at a play date. I think it made school easier for her for a while for familiar faces to be there.  None of her friends from last year are in her class.  We went into parent-teacher conference and the teacher said she's very quiet and seems uncomfortable/unsure a lot.  =(  It was weird to hear because you can't get two minutes of quiet out of her at home.   I really hope she likes her class next year because she seemed to have been doing a lot better in her class last year when she loved school and her teacher.  A positive change this year is that she loves reading now!  She grumbled about it last year but chooses to spend a lot of her time at home reading aloud.  I guess she's mine after all. =)
Since I haven't blogged in forever and I'm just sliding this in, here are pics from this fall.
Danica's first day of the first grade.

She's been more interested in clothes(uh-oh) and was SO excited to dress up in clothes she got to pick out.
We're pretty awesome.

She calls this her, "I love my ducks shirt."

Danica is a big fan of the DSi Uncle Neil gave to us.
Of course if its snows even an inch they cancel school.  I appreciate it.  We don't see much white weather around here.  Unfortunately I slept in and she finally woke me up so pitifully sad that the snow was melting and she didn't get to play in it.  I felt awful.  She was happy enough to get to play in the snow that was still covering the car so I guess she wasn't traumatized.
We worked together to make a little snowgirl.  =)
The girls enjoying playing with their kitchen and accessories.
A picture we see a lot in one form another. She is often reading.  I love it!

Summer 2010

Just some random pics from this summer.  It was a pretty quiet summer.
Danica's last day of kindergarten.

It's sunny!!!

Danica lost the training wheels.  =)

Luckily we got to spend several warn summer days like this.  Thanks to the Heidemans we discovered Amazon pool.

We got to go on a camping trip with some of the duplex crowd.  =)  Good times! Next time we'll hopefully have a camping site planned before heading out. ;)  That was an adventure all by itself.
