Baby Girl Dewsnup

I always thought these pics made the babies look like burn victims but Rob says wax molds. I'll have to agree =) Poor thing looks like she has a black eye. but anyhow... Here she is! Hopefully we'll be meeting her in 16 weeks, so far away! =(

The doctor was pleased with the ultrasound findings today so we don't need to see a peri anymore. =)

The Land Before Time

I needed a title, this works. So Danica is movie obsessed. I don't let her watch any cartoons on tv because I haven't seen them and I'm totally over protective and choose to shield her from junk. We do however own plenty of movies =) As much as she loves Disney Princess stuff her favorite Disney movie is still Fox and the Hound. I think I've blogged before that I simply don't get it. Well she also loves The Land Before Time and was watching it yet again today. A theme in it is the friends sticking together. So this evening Danica and I are sitting down side by side brushing our teeth and she starts talking...a difficult feat while using an electric toothbrush ...
her: I love you.
me: I love you too.
her: I love you!
me: I love you too...?
her: We'll always be best friends right?
me: sure!...well, maybe not when you're a teenager. Teenagers tend to not like their parents...
her: (all teary eyed!) We'll still be best friends! We'll always be together!
...Do you think maybe I shouldn't let her watch sad movies? Or ones where the mom dies like in both Fox and the Hound and Land Before Time? haha. It was so cute! I wish they stayed young forever. I was telling Rob later that I am going to be so sad when she gets older and isn't so sweet and he says that's why we have more kids. Boys!

I got nagged at for not blogging but I simply do not do anything. =) Danica and I have turned into Wii addicts after buying the Animal Crossing game(thanks mom for getting us hooked!) It's pretty sad. haha. but fun! I only work Wednesday afternoons so we are just home hanging out all the time. It does sound super pathetic that I hardly work but I literally can't hardly walk afterwards! I have to take baby steps and it hurts so bad. I'm broken.

Pregnancy wise things are calm right now. Talk about the most drama filled pregnancy. It's been a mess. We had our big ultrasound 3? weeks ago now. They found a couple abnormalities so we got sent to a specialist. They were concerned baby might have Trisonomy 18 and of course I hadn't had my quad marker screen done because I HATE needles and wouldn't have done anything anyway if there were any chromosomal abnormalities so why get stabbed for nothing? So we had a nerve racking couple days. I did get the quad blood test taken after the ultrasound appointment and the peri's office was able to tell me when I went in that the test results were back and looked totally normal. He didn't think the abnormalities were related and wasn't really concerned. I'll go in for another ultrasound there next tuesday. It'll be my 5th ultrasound and my 5th appointment. Sheesh!

Boo winter!

Many who know me know that I HATE snow so I was very sad to see such blinding whiteness one morning. Danica however (thankfully) does not share most of my likes/dislikes though so we ventured out. And by "we" I mean I sat bundled up sitting on the only surface not covered with snow(a manhole cover) and asked Danica if she was done yet about every 3 minutes. Sure wish I had a backyard =(
BRRR!

She was heartbroken when I said we weren't going to make gingerbread men because she had so much fun making them last year. I vetoed the gingerbread because I simply didn't like it-and making yucky cookies is just so sad- so we made sugar cookies instead. ...and yes, some in gingerbread man shapes. While many people's holiday plans were messed up due to the poor weather conditions concerning flights and such, I was ecstatic. We got to have Danica for Christmas this year! We had an early Christmas with Nana Mykie and then spent Christmas day at both the Dewsnup's and Vance's.
Danica is lucky to have such great uncles. Uncle John played several games of memory with Danica using her new cards...she cared naught that they were for old maid, go fish and crazy 8's...
Cute new pj's.
Our Christmas tree and short-stuff. I took down all the rest of the decorations right after Christmas but couldn't bear to take the tree down yet. It just seems so sad to think it lived it's "purpose." I shall mourn it's passage. Perhaps I should look into getting a fake tree? ;)

If you can't tell my hubby doesn't like getting pics taken so he halfheartedly humors me.
Grandpa Dan reading Danica a new book she got for Christmas. She LOVES being read to.
Ah, two of Danica's loves. Wilbur and Penne. (she doesn't get that from me)
So now that we've passed all the exciting parts of winter...
I'm done! Can summer come now???
oh, and if you're wondering why there aren't any pics from my folks house it's because I had a dead camera battery by then but I'm sure they'll post about Christmas...

Pilates!

No, I haven't been up to much exercise but Danica has. She absolutely loves pilates-tis the only workout dvd's we own. I had rented her a kid yoga dvd from the library and she got a big kick out of it too. The only reason I have any desire to get on-demand?, I don't know what the tv-cable thingy is called, is that they have a bunch of fun workouts on there at your fingertips. We were doing some of the yoga workouts a few weeks ago and I remembered how much I like it. I must admit I cannot do down-dog properly at all anymore.
Anyhow, purpose of this post is simply for these pics taken the other day:
...I'd like to note that it is clean laundry stacked in the background...it's actually still there. But it's clean!

Selective hearing?

Nope...she simply is hard of hearing. Poor child. I took her to the doctor today. She was to raise her hand when she heard a beep from the device stuck in her ear. Out of three beeps she heard one in one ear and two in the other. We'll recheck next week and if it's the same she'll go to a specialist. She has been sick and they could tell there was fluid on one side, though it was the side on which she did better on the hearing test.
Obviously she can hear =) just not as well as she should be able to.

Little Bunny Foo Foo

So Danica has a Dora book that has a magna-doodle type top, as pictured, that she practices writing on. (Thanks Mandi! It's perfect!) Lately her fave words to write are cat, dog, hat, sat, bat and mom. (Probably because she can spell them herself) Well last night we're all sitting in the living room and Danica says "Look, a bunny!" and we look over and behold--a bunny. She says it's sitting down. This is my favorite of the pics she's drawn...usually it's a guessing game trying to figure out what it is and at the same time trying not to hurt her feelings when it's not immediately obvious. Her last of my faves is still on the fridge. It's a ghost wearing a tutu. haha.

We haven't been up to much recently. I'm still not feeling well. I finally scheduled a doctor's appointment for Friday. And today I found out that Danica and I were both approved for insurance. Do you know how exciting that is?! Way! It took forever to find out but it is in effect as of Oct. 6th so I guess I should have just gone to the doctor already. Oh well.

We're down to one car since Rob's car decided it had had enough. Wait let me shed some tears over it... ... ... no, not gonna happen. ;) While it is unfortunate that we only have one, I felt like his was a dangerous ticking timebomb. This however would have been more of an 'inconvenience' had my car not been recovered. I'm sure we'll have to find him one sometime(I get to pick it out.) But in the meantime I don't mind just having one. I'm cheap. I think if we can survive with one we should. =)

For some reason these last couple weeks at work have been way easier than usual. I've had mostly recall patients which does NOT happen! I've gone days without a single one before. It is so SO nice, just what I needed.

Danica will be out of town starting today through the day after Thanksgiving. That, I can easily shed tears over... :(

Green Oregon

Danica *likes* recycling. Isn't that funny? She is better at it than some people in our house (cough)Rob(cough). Yesterday I saw her picking up little pieces of cardboard to recycle that even I would have just swept up and tossed.
She was just singing a song about how "recycling is fun"...hence why I thought of it. anyhow. I think it's cute.
