We went on VACATION!!

I kept hanging it over Rob's head that he had never met a single member of my extended family.  Well, this summer we remedied that.  =)  We went on a week long vacation, stopping at family member's homes in Boise, ID, Jerome, ID, Stansbury Park, UT and Benjamin, UT.  It was GREAT to see family but it didn't take long for me to want my own bed soooo bad!  Mira did not sleep much and that meant that momma didn't sleep much.  I had to steal pics from Danica's and my mom's camera because my camera sadly stayed in the car.
Danica loved getting to play with cousins.

I don't think Mira knew what to do with a child her age. haha.  It was cute watching them interact though.
We took turns driving.  I guess its the girls' turn?  Actually Rob was my hero on this trip.  He kept saying beforehand that he planned on sleeping the whole time but he drove 90% of the trip.   It was so nice to sit back and relax(aka eat the most astounding amount of junk food).  The drive time flew by for me.

Aunt Mari has a nice pond behind her house that goes through the neighborhood.  I've been on it several times over the years.  This time we went as far away as we can paddle...and then Danica told us she had to use the bathroom.  I was afraid we'd have to pull up to someone's dock and beg to use the facilities.

It took about 2 seconds on the paddle boat before Mira decided she'd rather hang out on the shore.

I sure wish I had gotten pictures at Bounce.  It was SO much fun! I felt like a little kid.

Danica turned 6!!!

I really cannot believe I have a six year old.  It seems like I blinked and years passed.  We asked Danica what she wanted to do for her birthday and she said she wanted to have a dinner with family like last year and she wanted to go swimming and play princesses with Ahna.  Sadly Ahna was moving away just days after Danica's birthday.  It was nice to get to celebrate with her but Danica was a sad little kiddo.
The princesses...

Gpa got Danica a camera for her birthday.
These are a couple of her early shots

We went and visited with the Gpa Dan and Gma Julie
 to celebrate.

Gma Julie just got back from a convention in S. Texas(?)
and brought Danica back some neat gifts!

Lil Sis even got a matching outfit.

She definitely had a great birthday!  Thanks to everyone who helped us celebrate!

HIJACKED!

Yes, Melissa, your blog has been hijacked by the evil mystery blogger!  (Bwahahaha!)  That's what you get for leaving it unattended for so long -- a whole month! So I have come to wreak random havoc, paparazzi style, without your permission.   Etc.  Etc.

                                                                Signed,

                                                                  GUESS WHO????

So, you're still smiling?  We'll see about that.

Your younger daughter prefers to stand on chairs, rather than sit on them.

Your older daughter seems to be getting a big head (I admit she's adorable, but really now!).

I see she gets her fashion sense from you, too (love the mismatched flip-flops).

The whole family seems to have misplaced your shoes -- what's up with that?

TTFN!  (But remember -- I'm watching you)

The Birthday Buddies turn 1 and 12??

Mira is 1!!!!!  I can't believe it.  Time goes by waaay too fast.   Her and Uncle Neil are birthday buddies so we celebrated together.  Grandma Julie made cute, delicious cakes for them.  Mira got her own cake so she could "dive in."  Or she could if she wasn't being so grumpy.

Food time!

Play time!

 Gift time!

It's his party too so he can cry if he wants too.  Neil claims to be 12.  We went along with it, 'cause he's Neil.
This was the first time Mira tried sweets.  She had a lick of frosting...and didn't like it.  She didn't even get down to the cake.  Her teeth came in with the enamel already pitted so we are extra-ridiculously-careful with them.

Grandpa Swenson sent money for us to pick out a gift for Mira.  We got her a little table to match her kitchen.  It's just their size.
